Biofouling protection for long-duration deployments

Designed to attach to a HydroScat-2 backscattering sensor, the HydroShutter-HS deploys a copper plate in front of the instrument windows. A suitable-equipped HydroScat-2 powers the motor at appropriate times to uncover or cover its windows as it collects data or sleeps. Like the HydroShutter-HR, it is also suitable as a submersible actuator for other applications.

Simple interfacing: apply 9 to 15V to activate; reverse polarity to change direction
Smart controller stops motion at preset limits
Low power: draws power only when in motion--only a few seconds per actuation
Range of motion 70 degrees nominal. Other ranges upon request.
Copper blade is user-replaceable for special applications
Acetal plastic case for depths up to 150 m
Anodized aluminum case available for 500 m depth rating
