Scalar Irradiance Collector

Accurately Measure Total Incident Light from All Directions

This collector measures scalar irradiance, simplifying measurement of complex underwater light fields.  Like HOBI's other light collectors, it is designed for underwater use with HydroRad and HOBI fiber optic cables, but also can be used with other cables with SMA connectors.

Measurement
  • Scalar Irradiance, E0
  • Responds equally to light from all directions, except the portion blocked by the collector base.
